Agricultural Phosphorus Management for Environmental Protection: A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
This review addresses research done over the past 40 years on different aspects of agricultural phosphorus (P) management for environmental protection. Inputs P are essential profitable crop production. Long-term application to soils has resulted in elevated levels soil P. accumulation may be desirable from an agronomic point view but it represents a threat freshwater quality. Indeed, runoff land is important component non-point source pollution and can accelerate eutrophication lakes streams. Even very small amounts raise concentration above critical value eutrophication. Excessive restricts water use recreation, industry, drinking due increased growth undesirable algae aquatic weeds. Current concerns facing environmentally sound agriculture similar worldwide revolve around agricultural, economic, compromises associated with balancing productivity values. Agricultural strategies should geared towards ensuring that P, finite earth resource, not wasted those do become so enriched there unnecessary risk too much being mobilized fields. Approaches, such as testing either models or indices have been studied implemented mitigate losses. Apparently, preferred instead this purpose because they more flexible. A holistic strategy therefore suggested by using conjunction index model.

Urban, agricultural, and environmental protection practices for sustainable water quality
Sustainable water management often emphasizes water resource quantity, with focus on availability and use practices. However, only a subset of the available water may be usable when also considering water quality. Water quality management is examined within three broad sectors—urban, agriculture, and environmental systems—to investigate how water quality sustainability (WQS) is defined by each ...
متن کاملReview of anthraquinone applications for pest management and agricultural crop protection.
We have reviewed published anthraquinone applications for international pest management and agricultural crop protection from 1943 to 2016. Anthraquinone (AQ) is commonly found in dyes, pigments and many plants and organisms. Avian repellent research with AQ began in the 1940s. In the context of pest management, AQ is currently used as a chemical repellent, perch deterrent, insecticide and feed...
متن کاملEnvironmental and Anthropogenic Pressures on Geophytes of Iran and the Possible Protection Strategies: A Review
Ornamental geophytes (ornamental flower bulbs) are international and national heritage considering their contribution to people's life quality around the world. Iranian habitats support about 8000 species of flowering plants (belonging to 167 families and 100 genera) of which almost 1700 are endemic. Iran is a rich country in terms of distribution of bulbous plants. More than 200 species of bul...
متن کاملUsage of Different Spectral Bands in Agricultural Environmental Protection
Hyper and multispectral imaging systems widely used in agricultural and environmental protection. Remote sensing techniques are suitable for evaluating environmental protection hazards, as well as for agriculture resource exploration. In our research we compared aerial hyper and multispectral images, as well as multispectral digital camera images with the background data in the test site. Hyper...
متن کاملImplementing agricultural phosphorus science and management to combat eutrophication
Experience with implementing agricultural phosphorus (P) strategies highlights successes and uncertainty over outcomes. We examine case studies from the USA, UK, and Sweden under a gradient of voluntary, litigated, and regulatory settings. In the USA, voluntary strategies are complicated by competing objectives between soil conservation and dissolved P mitigation. In litigated watersheds, manda...
